Utifrån en grundidé målar Paul variationer på sina tankar och drömmar. Frigör sig från den realistiska bilden och bygger stegvis upp den nya bilden till dess att bara den ursprungliga bildens innersta väsen kvarstår.


Under arbetets gång reduceras den ursprungliga idén till ett minimum av former, mönster och färger. Det blir upp till betraktaren att föreställa sig verkligheten bakom målningen. Pauls konst påminner ofta om pop-konstens serieliknande uttryck.

Works as a painter for many years and paints decorative art in oil colours on canvas. His style is abstract to meta-realistic. Many of his paintings are large format.


Starting from an initial theme Paul Cleeve paints variations of his thoughts and visions. He frees his vision from the realistic view of e.g. a photograph and in steps he builds this view new only with the minimum essence of the picture in his head.


His style is the reduction of the theme to a minimum of forms, patterns and colours. It is in the eyes of the viewer to imagine details of the reality within the paintings. His works so often give the impression of pop-art serigraphic paintings.
